Note: Experience required. Must be located in, or in the process of relocating to, Las Vegas (or surrounding) areas to be considered for the position. Wecom does not offer a relocation package at this time.

Summary: The Fiber Network Project Manager will manage the overall project-level activities; including but not limited to: Fiber Network Design,
Construction, Installation, Site Turn up, and Site Growth. The Fiber Network
Project Manager will oversee the Fiber Projects, in their entirety, and will be responsible for setting up processes to manage the procurement of fiber assets, while on an aggressive schedule.

They will oversee project level activities for all products for the given geographic territory and manage activities of installations of cable and infrastructure of wireless systems; starting from initial surveys to vendor selection, and final delivery. The Fiber Network Project Manager must be able to successfully design and deliver fiber networks as part of a fast- developing network strategy and buildout.

The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS degree. 3 – 5 years’ experience leading multiple concurrent and highly visible projects, with experience delivering SUCCESSFUL fiber-based networks. Must have experience working with network/fiber service providers in OSP/ISP deployments.

The Fiber Network Project Manager will not be just a “job seeker”, but instead take initiative and be passionate about delivering Wecom Fiber to our rural communities.

Experience with GIS Mapping Software, Project Management Software, and Microsoft Office are required.

This position is deemed “safety sensitive.”

Essential Functions:

Facilitate all tasks related to fiber network construction

– Review and approve all network design and equipment room design drawing packages, review and develop scopes of work, and lead
RFP/feasibility scope walks for assigned projects.

– Ensure all proper preparation and tasks (including equipment room field notes and design documents) are prepared accurately and in a timely manner, for “Work Progress Reports.”

– Manage vendors, including Architectural/ Engineering Firms and
Vendor/Selection Management

– Working with the Conduit or Innerduct Lease Processes
– Establish and maintain procedures for procurement, vendor selection, documentation, and final deliver of fiber assets.
– Manage capital expenditures with attention to design standards and compliance with master service agreements with installation contractors; whilst maintaining quality and compliance with industry standards.

– Communicate and collaborate with other team members to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting of project timelines, resources, and capital expenditures.

– Oversee scheduling, reporting, and driving due dates.
– Update and create project procedures & playbooks for uniform standards across ALL projects.
– Proactively identify risks.
– Ensure assigned projects are completed on time, and within budget, whilst maintaining optimal customer service.
– Manage, track, and communicate progress and Key Performance

Indicators to management team.
– Maintain a level of excellence in the team’s quality of work and mindset.
– Travel when required. Including periodic, short-term (day trip) travel to Arizona

Qualifications:

Background in Telecommunications managing the pre-construction and construction phases of OSP Deployments (QA/QC)

Experience related to aerial and below-ground fiber construction, node construction and related utility make-ready work.

Skill Sets: OSP, Fiber, FTTX, enterprise, Aerial, Pre-Construction, Cable,
Make Ready, Right of Way (ROW)

Network design knowledge

Knowledge of datacenter, telco fiber/lit services (ordering and installation): colocation, rack and power (AC & DC), fiber, ethernet, and permitting.

Experience delivering Fiber to the premise, Fiber to the home, Backbone
Fiber, Outside Plant.

Experience in managing multiple vendors on crucial timelines to deliver FOC dates

Experience with GIS Mapping Software, Project Management software, and
Microsoft Office.

Knowledge of Rules for Overhead Electric Line Construction AND Public
Right of Way

Understand fiber qualifications, OTDR, PMD, CD testing and analysis

Possess analytical and data-based decision-making skills

Demonstrate excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills

Demonstrate ability to multitask

Possess a strong bias for action, and sense of pace and urgency

Valid Driver’s License (Required)

Ability to pass a Drug Screening (Required)

Education:

BA/BS Degree, ideally in technical discipline,

3-5 years practical experience in leading multiple concurrent and highly visible projects and delivering successful fiber-based networks.

8-10 years’ experience in leading multiple concurrent and highly visible projects and delivering successful fiber networks.
