Project Manager – Telecom Engineering
Squan Engineering is seeking a PM who resides in Texas or Arkansas but will work remotely. The Project Manager is responsible for process implementation, tracking progress, leading resources, and project delivery. The Project Manager will be the single point of contact (SPOC) for all client needs. They will establish and meet timelines; assign appropriate resources to areas of responsibility, ensure task completion and proactively address issues as they arise.
This role can be performed remotely by someone who resides in Texas or Arkansas
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead projects through the entire project lifecycle, potentially managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Mentor and manage a team of 10-15 people which could include Fielders, OSP Engineers, and/or Designers
- Provide structure to assigned team members with discipline and respect; be consistent and fair
- Consistently deliver project status reports to team members, clients, and senior management
- Establish rapport and maintain a sense of professionalism with clients, suppliers, and vendors
- Minimize scope creep and maintain a constant awareness of project cost vs. revenue
- Work with customer and internal teams to understand, define and document project scope requirements and develop realistic timelines
- Provide daily oversight of resources, and adjust resources as required per project requirements
- Ensure technical teams understand requirements and adhere to time schedules
- Provide quality management to ensure project deliverables are in line with client requirements
- Have a strong understanding of Profit and Loss, Cost vs. Revenue, and Budgeting
- Know how to upload user information into systems; learn, use, and teach project management systems
- Up to 25% travel (1–2-night stay) will be required to include manager meetings, client meetings, and employee site visits
Required Experience:
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience with OSP Engineering and 2+ years of experience in a leadership role
- Leadership of small-to-medium-sized teams in engineering
- Ability to read and understand design prints
