About You:
The ideal person will have a diploma or a degree in electronics, communications, or an electrical background with hands on experience testing, installing, programming, and repairing wireless and electronic communication equipment and systems. You have good analytical, problem solving, trouble shooting and mechanical skills and have a can-do attitude, practice safety first and are not afraid of hard work. This camp job is a fly in fly out, 7 on 7 off shift rotation with flights and accommodations provided from Edmonton or Calgary.
Must Haves:
- 2 year diploma in electronics or communications engineering technology or related field/ 4 year bachelors degree in electronics combined with related work experience
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Operator’s License with a clean driving record within the last 5 years
- Mine driving experience an asset
- Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing on a regular and frequent basis for access to site
Assets include:
- Basic diagnostic and radio programming
- Experience installing portable radio equipment into all forms of light duty and heavy-duty vehicles
- Electrical Wiring codes and best practices
- Knowledge of hand and power tools, test equipment and design/fabrication techniques
- Experience working with conventional, trunking, and P25 systems
- Experience working with Motorola and Kenwood portable radio equipment
- Mine driving and trailer towing experience
