RECRUITMENT OF A KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AND SHARING SPECIALIST FOR THE MEMBER SERVICES DEPARTMENT

African Water Association (AfWA)

TOR FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF A KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AND SHARING SPECIALIST FOR THE MEMBER SERVICES DEPARTMENT OF THE AFRICAN WATER AND SANITATION ASSOCIATION (AfWASA)

1. WHO ARE WE?

The African water and Sanitation Association is a continental platform that brings together drinking water production and distribution companies, wastewater service management companies, and those who regulate water and wastewater sector policies in African countries. It was created in 1980 as a professional institution and was originally called the African Union of Water Distributors (UADE).

In 2004, in order to take into account the sanitation utilities, as well as the regulatory and asset management companies that emerged from the institutional reforms of the 90s in many African countries, and given the strong desire of these new entities to join the institution, the African Union of Water Suppliers changed its name to the African Water Association (AfWA).

The African Water and Sanitation Association (AfWASA) covers the entire African continent and is the only African water and sanitation organization that brings together operators in the water and sanitation sector as well as the sector’s various stakeholders.

Since February 2023, at the end of its 21st Congress, AfWA has changed its name to African Water and Sanitation Association, abbreviated AfWASA, to reflect the sanitation component of its mission.

Today, the AAEA has 115 members from 45 countries.

The AfWASA headquarter is located at rond-point de la Riviera-Palmeraie, 2ème étage de l’immeuble SODECI which houses the organization’s Executive Direction.
