Role title: Regulatory Affairs Manager
Function: Enterprise Regulation
Department: Risk, Regulation and Compliance;
Reports to: Senior Manager Enterprise Regulation
Location: Newbury
Role purpose: To provide expert regulatory advice and compliance support to Vodafone Group Enterprise . The role reports into the Enterprise regulatory lead for the Europe region and is part of a wider virtual regulatory team within Vodafone Group Enterprise. The focus includes supporting Enterprise product developments by assisting with regulatory compliance advice. Similarly the role-holder will get involved in customer projects, which demand individual regulatory support. The role holder will assist with the design of practices and processes, to create an effective operation of regulatory information management for Vodafone Group Enterprise. The role holder should expect to work with the legal department, product development, customer facing teams and a wider community of experts on telecoms regulations, privacy and security/law enforcement. Vodafone Group Enterprise is an expanding business and role-holders will have visibility and get involved in developing industry leading total communications services for Vodafone’s top Enterprise customers.
- Assistance to the Senior Enterprise Regulatory Manager on the design of compliance models for Enterprise products and network solutions..
- Support to selected Vodafone Group Enterprise customer solutions, demanding advice on on regulatory compliance.
- Support with monitoring and analysing regulatory developments in Enterprise off-footprint markets (Europe region).
- Assist with the creation of a regulatory knowledge management practice, supporting regulatory compliance and advice on law enforcement.
- Provide advice and guidance to Vodafone Enterprise legal team for regulatory and law enforcement requirements for contracts with customers, suppliers, OpCo’s and partner markets.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- Technical knowledge: Working knowledge and familiarity with telecoms legal/regulatory compliance activities, ideally including the legal framework on law enforcement.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate complex legal/regulatory requirements into clear business messages.
- Interest to put attention to detail, where required, with a mind-set for compliance and the wider risk framework.
- Organisational skills: Proven excellent organisational and forward planning skills. Ability to prioritise workload and manage deadlines.
- Pro-active and motivated: Reliable, self-motivated and proactive.
- Deliver expert regulatory advice for Enterprise products and bids, with a focus on Europe. Measured by feedback from customer facing teams and product practice.
- Deliver high-quality regulatory support for the Enterprise business, measured by feedback from the Senior Public Policy Manager and Head of Risk, Regulatory & Compliance.
- Concept in place to improve telecoms regulatory knowledge management across the Enterprise regulatory team.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Law Degree (preferred), Economics Degree or suitable analytical degree (or equivalent) accompanied by relevant experience.
- Experience with analysing and advising on communications laws and regulations.
- Experience with the legal framework on Law Enforcement Assistance (preferred).
- English and another EU language (preferred)
