Job Description

We are seeking a Telecom Project Manager for a 9-12 month contract to support an ISP remotely from anywhere within the U.S.

The Project Manager will support the Senior Project Manager (SPM) in the planning and execution of all voice engineering projects within their region. This role is responsible for the coordination and completion of projects on time, on budget and within scope.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of voice engineering projects using project management tools, processes, and methodologies to ensure assigned projects are delivered on time and meet high quality standards.
  • Assist the SPM in the development and distribution of project objectives, milestones, and schedules.
  • Serve as point of contact for everything involving a project’s organization and timeline.
  • Be engaged, with the ability to speak to status across all ongoing projects at any time.
  • Demonstrate consistent ownership and accountability for the delivery of projects.
  • Ensure that all project stakeholders have the required information and resources to carry out their respective tasks effectively.
  • Continuously perform risk assessment, mitigate risk, and remove roadblocks independently.
  • Coordinate with relevant internal team members to manage action items and timelines to meet business goals.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and provide regular streamlined reports to leadership.
  • Continuously consider the triple constraint (time, cost and scope) with a specific focus on time reduction and minimizing cost.
  • Provide best-in-class customer service.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of telecommunications experience, with an understanding of network topology and elements.
  • Understanding of TDM network strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of voice switches, including Lucent, Nortel, and Siemens.
  • 5 years of project management experience.
  • Proven experience managing multiple technical projects simultaneously.

Experience in project managing technical projects in the following areas are an asset: Telephony, Data, Fiber, PON, DSL, and Technical Operations.

  • Vendor management experience preferred.
  • PMP Certification Preferred

  • Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities and schedules.

  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment and reasoning skills to a variety of situations.
  • Ability to multi-task and collaborate effectively with other personnel to meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work within critical deadlines.
  • Ability to use and navigate Smartsheet.
  • Knowledge of M6 (Inventory Management System)
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.

Additional Information


This 9-12 month contract role can work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. This role will pay between $45-$50 per hour W2.
