Offer Description
Mission:
Complete the research study on the precise orbital determination combined with the formation of multistatic SAR images based on the GEODE system of interferometric observation of geostationary satellite signals and their echoes. This study ends with the acquisition and processing of interferometric and polarimetric signals with a reception unit dedicated to the formation of images, a validation of the results and their publication in conferences and specialized journals.
Functions:
- Complete the development of the echos reception unit in polarimetric, interferometric and multi-satellite modes in Ku Band for the formation of bistatic SAR images.
- Complete the study of autofocusing techniques for the improvement of bistatic GEOSAR images.
- Experimental validation of the proposed techniques.
- Publication of the results in specialized conferences/journals.

Skills/Qualifications
Technical Competencies:
- Design, manufacture and assembly of RF and microwave circuits in printed microstrip technology.
- Test and validation of RF and microwave microstrip circuits.
- Repair and rework of RF and microwave microstrip circuits.
- Design and integration of coherent microwave receiver systems.
- Design of high-speed digital correlators with FPGA.
- SAR simulation and processing of multistatic echo signals.
- Programming in VHDL languages in Vivado environment, Assembler, C/C++, Matlab, Python.
Organizational Skills:
- Ability to carry out research on an individual level and to work in a team.
- Ability to document hardware and software developments.
- Ability to work in cooperation with international teams.
Functional Competencies:
- Ability to propose and write technical reports and scientific publications.
Specific Requirements
Educational requirements:
- Digital correlation techniques of complex I/Q signals.
- FPGA programming for real-time processing.
- Interferometric systems for orbital determination.
- Simulation and processing of echo data for the formation of GEOSAR images.
- Self-focusing techniques for GEOSAR missions.
- Analysis of echo data and GEOSAR images.
- Development of coherent multi-channel receivers of radar echo signals in Ku Band.
- It will be assessed:
- University Master in Telecommunication Engineering.
Professional experience:
- Research and development in correlation and digital compression of echo signals and SAR bistatic processing based on the transmission of communications signals.
- Experience in functions similar to those described, specifically in the development of research activities, both in the university and industrial environment, will be valued.

Eligibility criteria
All the candidates who cannot prove the required academic degree will be immediately withdrawn from the selection process.
The CVs will be assessed according the following general criteria:
- The maximum score for the candidates who accomplish all the eligibility criteria stated in the job offer will be 10 points.
- Threshold: 5 points.
- The maximum score (10 points) will be distributed as follows:
- 1 point for required speciality.
- 2 points for required academic training.
- 2 points for technic competences.
- 1 point for organisational competences.
- 3 points for professional experience.
- 1 point for any aspect of the candidate’s professional profile to be determined as specially relevant by the Selection committee.
If the selection committee decide to include a personal interview as additional step of the selection process, only the candidates scored 5 or above for their CV will be retained for the interview step.
The interview will be assessed according the following criteria:
- Maximum scoring: 5 points.
- Threshold: 3 points.
- The maximum score will be distributed according the following criteria:
- 2 points for adequacy to functional competences of the job.
- 2 points for adequacy of professional experience.
- 1 point for any aspect of the candidate’s professional profile to be determined as especially relevant by the Selection committee.
The eligible candidates will be ranked from highest to lowest score, being this the selection criteria.
