RF Technician

This is a non-union Working under the supervision of the RF Manager. This position requires the likes of an individual who is excited to learn new skills. Must be able and willing to perform physical duties outdoors and have a clean driver abstract.

Requirements include and not limited to:

• Read and understand Coax system drawings related to coax outside plant network
• Splice and repair various coax cables
• Interpret CATV designs and implement these designs in the field
• Analyze test results and have the ability to troubleshoot and correct any faults or defects
• Interpret and understand placing and splicing work plans
• Read and interpret work plans or job specifications to execute all work assigned safely and in accordance to the Company Health and Safety policy
• Work outdoors in various conditions to place copper or fiber optic telecommunication cables
• Climb poles, ladders and a variety of construction equipment to assist in the installation of telecommunication cables and apparatuses
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment
• Accurately record and report project progress to the appropriate supervisory person and communicate any issues or expected delays
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Must have prior coax cable experience
• Ability to interpret placing and splicing plans
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Competency in OTDR and other testing protocol
• Good communication skills with the ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Must be able to provide a clear criminal record check and a clean driver’s abstract

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

• Overtime pay
