Job Detail
We are currently seeking an experienced Safety Director.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise Safety Managers/Inspectors (1-2)
- Manage Safety Policies and Procedures (update, develop, and modify as necessary).
- Manage Safety and Equipment Training
- Manage Training Schedule
- Coordinate 3rd Party trainers
- Equipment training.
- Manage In-house weekly Safety Meetings
- Manage Safety Meeting schedule
- Manage, develop, and update presentations (power point).
- Conduct safety meetings (in English and Spanish).
- Perform job-site safety audits and inspections along with our Safety Manager
- Coordinate and follow-up with Supervisors to manage and resolve issues
- Manage Job Hazard Assessment (JHA) program
- Manage Fleet Safety Program
- Work with Fleet Manager to provide Driver Safety Training
- Investigating incidents/accidents/near-misses.
- Injury case management.
- Conduct post-incident/accident/near-miss review meetings.
- Conduct bi-monthly Safety & Risk Control Meetings with company ownership.
- Preparing site specific safety plans.
- Travel to attend Risk Control Seminars (2 times per year).
- Seek additional certifications and training as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have at least 4+ years of experience in electrical construction. Possession of a Journeyman or Master Electrician License is preferred.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a Safety Manager.
- Must possess:
- A Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification (degreed) or:
- Safety Management Specialist (SMS) certification (non-degreed)
- Any other recognized certification related to safety, risk management and/or training.
- OSHA 500 – Trainer for the Construction Industry
- OSHA 510 – Standards for the Construction Industry training.
- Must be familiar and experienced with the requirements of the following:
- OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910 (General Industry)
- OSHA 29 CFR Part 1926 (Construction)
- NFPA-70E.
- DOT, FMSCA, and other transportation related requirements.
- Must have working knowledge of the OSHA requirements and safety standards related to the following, and how to apply them to construction work:
- Excavation
- Confined Spaces
- Fall Protection
- Arc-Flash and Shock Hazards
- Work Zone Safety
- Aerial Lift and Bucket Work
- Able to read, write, and communicate in English and Spanish (preferred).
- Must have adequate presentation skills and be able to communicate in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluent in communication tools and methods.
- Must be proficient in the use of MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
- Must also be capable of learning and applying company and site safety rules to the work being performed.
- Must be self-disciplined, trustworthy, and able to work productively with minimal supervision.
- Must have a good driving record with minimal infractions.
- Must have a background suitable for working in schools, hospitals, and other government facilities.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug tests.

- Annual salary is negotiable and based on skills and experience. Employees are paid weekly.
