An aerospace company is looking for an experienced Sales Manager of satellite communication equipment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Manager – Sales
LOCATION: New York
SALARY: $80-100K
REQUIREMENTS: Experience with Satellite Communication, Wireless Communication, or Telecommunication equipment.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for meeting monthly sales objectives and achieving other performance metrics as assigned. Responsibilities include seeking out, developing, responding and closure of opportunities working with customers, business development and account managers, engineers, and executive and program managers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
At the direction of General Manager and Director of Satellite Department,
- Prospecting for new customers and for new opportunities within existing customers for our Japanese manufacturers’ products.
- Building and maintaining customer relationships across all departments and levels, in order to identify new opportunities and grow sales
- Positioning our manufacturers’ products to address customer needs through one-on-one meetings, presentations and travel with engineers, and managers from our manufacturer
- Identifying and addressing customers’ needs in a timely manner, driving sales opportunities
- Securing purchase orders and significantly growing companies revenue
- Attending sales meetings, conferences, trade shows and other industry events, as needed
- Preparation of sales/activity/business meeting reports
- Analyze and project profitability, revenue and margins for all products and projects.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
At the direction of General Manager and Director of Satellite Department,
- Maintain and report on weekly and monthly sales forecast and business opportunities. Participate in establishing product line forecasts, goals and action plans to ensure share of market and profitability of products and/or services with company guidelines.
- Manage supporting the product line and inventory. Ensure effective expense control of sales activities for the product line to achieve designated budgets within company goals and financial guidelines.
- Perform necessary actions to set up credit terms for customers, including but not limited to obtaining financials of the customers. Conduct due diligence through Legal, Risk Management, and Accounting departments.
- Looks for opportunities for new products which will augment our existing business, or business alliance opportunity including investment opportunities.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific or technical field (Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills are essential.
- Experience with contract negotiations and technical concept development skills desired to be able to help create the solutions.
- Basic knowledge of international trade, including but not limited to, terminology of Incoterms and shipping and customs clearance
- Requires in-depth knowledge of processing quotes/proposals/RFPs and will have sound judgment and decision making skills
- The position would require ~50% travel, and availability on some evenings and weekends for international conference calls.
