Job Description
Position Title: SAP Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) Specialist
Job classification: Ungraded
Duty station: Manila (Global) Administrative Centre (MAC)
Type of Appointment: Nine-months without possibility of extension
Salary: Php 200,000 per month net of taxes (All-inclusive Salary)
Context
Under the overall supervision of the Manila Administrative Center (MAC) Director and the direct supervision of the Business Transformation Data Migration Execution and Test, the successful candidate will support the data migration process from SAP (legacy ERP) to Oracle (New ERP) by (1) Assisting in determining fields in SAP equivalent to Oracle; (2) creating ABAP developed reports, transformation and to extract data from SAP and to load to Oracle, and (3) to perform other tasks as assigned.
Core Functions / Responsibilities
1. Analyze and identify data migration needs on different objects related to HR, finance, procurement and others.
2. Collaborate with BT Stream Leads, Business Analysts, SMEs, PRISM Technical Experts, and other subject matter experts to:
- Identify source data for migration to Oracle based on Oracle templates.
- Determine business rules to transform source data structures and data elements to the required target structures.
- Create ABAP programs to obtain source data, transform to required Oracle format and to create Oracle load files.
- Address any questions / issues that arise during the design, implementation, testing and running of data migration processes.
- Create reports to compare PRISM to output data for pre-load validation and to ensure traceability; troubleshoot and correct errors as required.
3. Work with SQL server experts to:
- Define data structures / tables to store extracted data in the data migration staging database (RDBMS).
- Design procedures to import source data into the staging database.
- Design import utilities to import extracts of loaded data exported from Oracle.
- Design reports to compare output data to extracted Oracle data for post-load validation reports and to ensure traceability; troubleshoot and correct errors as required.
4. Support unit testing of data migration processes.
5. Support all test / mock data migration cycles.
6. Support production cutover data migration.
7. Coordinate with Oracle colleagues to ensure clarity and completeness of data migration templates and to address any questions that may arise.
8. Provide technical inputs to data migration team colleagues of detected data quality issues.
9. Document data migration scripts / procedures.
10. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
11. Correctly apply knowledge of separated IT disciplines to develop innovative IT solutions.
12. Ensure the development of objects/products adhere to best practices, are properly tuned for optimal performance, and have minimum bugs.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Master’s Degree in Finance, Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, Information technology, computer science or other related fields.
- University degree in above fields with seven years of relevant experience.
Experience:
- More than 7 years of experience in using ABAP programming language.
- Developing HR reports and others for downloading in different file formats.
- Experience in data migration from one ERP/other systems to another ERP is an advantage.
- Experience working in International Organization or other United Nations Agencies.
- In depth knowledge of Human resources module in SAP.
- In depth knowledge and use of ABAP programming.
- Capability to work with persons in different culture and expertise.
- Capable to understand system logics and functions.
