SCADA Project Engineer

Overview
Crosslinx Transit Solutions (CTS) is a consortium comprised of EllisDon, SNCLavalin, Aecon, and ACS – Dragados. CTS has been selected by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario to deliver the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit Project and is seeking highly qualified, experienced personnel to join the team of this complex P3 design and construction project.

Reporting to the SCADA Project Manager, in this position you shall be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Responsibilities

• Support Construction team acting as an interface between the design team and vendor to support the delivery and installation of SCADA system.
• Support Projects’ Integration of SCADA System design into Stations, Stops, Traction Power Sub-stations, Maintenance & Storage facilities and Control Centres in accordance with Project requirements.
• Analyze design specifications and customer requirements.
• Monitoring and reporting performance against schedule, technical quality, financial and other Key Performance Indicators.
• Support the project design team with the effort of vendor drafting Interface control documents by arranging workshops with vendors and track open actions and closure of the actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ Degree, Engineering (Telecommunication/Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent.
• 5+ years post degree/experience, technical and project management experience would be advantage.

Preference for: Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng) or Project Management Professional (P.M.P).

• Rail, CBTC (fixed block or moving block), Metro or Transport experience preferred.

• Experience in a construction project environment is an asset.

• Understanding and experience in System Integration.

• Understanding communication protocols such as MODBUS, DNP3, OPC, XML
• Experience with control systems (PLC, SCADA, RTU) troubleshooting, upgrades, lifecycle management and interfacing with different vendors.
• Excellent communication, inter-personal skills, teamwork and collaborative abilities.
• Proven ability to multi-task and organize in order to meet tight deadlines.
• Proven documentation writing skills.

Note: In order to hold the title of “Engineer” in Ontario, you must be a Professional Engineer, licensed with the Association of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). CTS reserves the right to change the title for the role if the chosen candidate does not meet this criteria.
