ComNetis currently staffing for an Intermediate Security Technician to service our full range of security systems designed to give companies flexible and affordable solutions that suit their business needs.

Position Summary

Our Intermediate Security Technician coordinates with electrical/door hardware contractors in conjunction with installation of cabling and door locking hardware based on customer requirements. Working at various locations accessible via use of our company vehicle, you will also be responsible for maintenance, inspection and reparation of existing security systems.

Qualifications

You will be evaluated against defined criteria, skills and attributes. As such, you should clearly identify related / relevant experience that corresponds to the qualifications below.

Education & Professional / Technical Knowledge:

  • Must have High school diploma and/or Technical degree or diploma
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in business equipment and computer applications and installation
  • 2 years experience with Genetec, Lenel, AMAG or Kantech preferred
  • Certification in electronics with recognized vendors
  • Experience in IP network set up and ability to troubleshoot
  • Solid understanding of vendor software applications
  • Intrusion and Access Control Systems vendor certification
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Must have excellent manual dexterity
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Able to install various security devices
  • Able to program alarm, access control systems, analogue & IP Systems
  • Able to install basic video systems & digital cameras
  • Able to configure & program DVR units
  • Able to wire access controller panels
  • Able to troubleshoot various security system service issues

Other Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s licence with a clean drivers abstract
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • Own tools/equipment including steel-toes safety boots and gloves
