Senior IT Technician

You’ve been around for a while. You’re used to having to figure things out on the fly. You have skills in a wide range of technologies. You have excellent people and customer service skills. As the Senior IT Technician, you will work with a small team to ensure proper operation of the Strait-IT partners’ technology environment, enabling end users to provide municipal services to their citizens, businesses and visitors. You will also provide an escalation resource to the Tier 1 support staff and will back up the IT Technician(s) in providing end-user support as required.

Applicants should have a thorough knowledge of Microsoft 365 (including Azure Active Directory), networking (firewalls, VPNs, managed switches, VLANS), structured cabling, telecommunications as well as project and people management skills. Travel throughout Antigonish County and Cape Breton will be required, as is access to a motor vehicle and a valid NS Drivers license.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• On call
