Sr Network Administrator

Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a Sr Network Administrator for their Vancouver, WA location. In this role, you will provide direct, high-level network administration support and assistance to the Power System Control (PSC) Technical Services (TTCT) organization. This position will support operational telecommunication facilities and associated equipment. The FIN Network Administrator function supports the Field Intranet Network (FIN) administration, security, and data integrity.

Pay Rate: $56 / Hour

Contract Duration: This position is a one-year renewable contract.

Key Responsibilities for Sr Network Administrator:

• Monitor and maintain the network and server infrastructure including the communication pathways, hardware, operating systems, software, services, associated documentation and technical drawings.
• Monitor the security of the network and connected devices.
• Investigate and document potential security incidents and follow the established escalation procedures. Assist in triaging confirmed security incidents and coordinate with other departments and escalate as required until the problem is remediated. Write post analysis and lessons learned documentation.
• Utilize commercial tools and open information to review software for security vulnerabilities.
• Configure, install, and troubleshoot a variety of equipment and networking components including routers, switches, firewalls, network servers, terminal servers, end devices, and network cabling.
• Coordinate and synergize server room rack arrangements and rack power installations.
• Build and maintain end-user equipment operating system images.
• Provide technical support to end users for authentication services, application, hardware, and network issues.
• Create and adjust network user security permissions and settings across multiple platforms.
• Automate processes by utilizing scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, VBscript or other scripting languages.
• Evaluate, test, and maintain hardware/software associated with the Field Intranet Network.

Requirements/Qualifications for Sr Network Administrator:

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
• 8 years of experience is required with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in applicable fields.
• 10 years of experience is required without a degree.
• Experience must include direct work experience in Information Technology performing Network Administration.
• Applicable Certifications may count for 1 year experience.
• 3 years of experience:
• Programming, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting by command line interface (CLI) on Cisco enterprise routers and switches (Access Control List) ACL and firewall experience.
• Implementing and maintaining network security in a large enterprise environment.
• Performing network management and operations tasks in a large enterprise environment.
• Working with common network troubleshooting and scanning applications.
• Onsite enterprise server computing environment, including standard Windows server environment.
