Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s OneTech organization is looking for a smart, passionate, and highly motivated Sr. Network ISE Engineer to join our Digital Platform Engineering team who has a keen sense of ownership and strong engineering. As a Senior Network ISE Engineer, you will be responsible for working with other team members in building and implementing secure networks.

The primary responsibility of this role is to work with other engineers, contingent workers, and operations teams to plan, build, and implement modern networks with SMEs across all OneTech departments. The candidate will work across OneTech to deploy automation solutions in accordance with TMNA standards. 

The position requires deep technical thinking, and hands-on technical skills to develop and deploy secure networks. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are highly detail-oriented and take pride in their deliverables. Ability to work with technical SMEs and product owners to deploy overall automation solutions. 

Reporting to the Manager, the person in this role will support the Digital Platform Engineering department’s objective to build highly reliable and secure modern networks.

What you’ll be doing

  • The Connectivity Engineer Networking and Security is the subject matter expert for the Identity service engine platform and Cisco DNAC platform. The primary responsibility is designing and implementing authentication and authorization policies for both Wireless and Wired endpoint connectivity.
  • This role has strong technical expertise in networking technologies with specialized subject expertise in applications networking, IP network hardware, routing protocols, high availability network monitoring, and network security.
  • This position is responsible for participating in medium to large complex projects involving the planning, design, and installation, of network security policies.
  • This position is primarily focused on the management and maintenance of Toyota’s Network Access Control- solutions, Zero Trust Policies, and Plant Micro-segmentation.
  • Responsible for researching, designing, building, testing, deploying, analyzing, administering, and maintaining the enterprise Cisco ISE solution (hardware, software, and configuration components) needed to meet current and future customer/business needs.
  • Build and analyze ISE rules to comply with client network security policies. Extensive experience in creating ISE policy for unseen network devices in a mixed manufacturing environment.
  • This role is critical in deploying policy-based Software Defined Networks across TMNA locations. As part of Manufacturing Digital Transformation, we are onboarding plant floor OT devices/private networks onto IT networks this role is key to enabling communication and data collection capabilities in a secure manner.
  • Manufacturing Network Engineering and Information Technology experience with an emphasis on Network Communication Standards (802.11, Ethernet/IP, ProfNet I/O, TCP/IP, QOS – Quality of Service)
  • Understanding of industrial PLC communication and its effect on Ethernet networks

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, and Wireless Networks
  • High-level teaming and communication skills to influence and persuade others.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to management.
  • Deep understanding of Internet Protocol (IP) addressing and Variable Length Subnet Mask (VLSM).
  • Extensive experience designing and implementing Cloud Networking Technologies and Solutions.
  • Strong experience with Monitoring and Alerting Tools:
  • Deep understanding of Local Area Network (LAN) switching technologies including VXLAN, ACI, fabric path, Spanning Tree, Virtual LAN (VLAN), and VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Knowledge of working within a team in an agile work environment.

Added bonus if you have

  • Previous Experience with Cisco ISE
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification
  • Proficient with scripting technologies, including but not limited to Python, Ansible, Perl, and Terraform.
