Senior Network Security Analyst

Job Description

As a Senior Network Security Analyst you will be responsible for reviewing, implementing and verifying Security Infrastructure changes across the global RBC Intranet (Core, LAN/WAN, Server Farm), Internet (Surfing, E-commerce), and Extranet environments. Provide consistent levels of organizational and technical expertise necessary for the successful implementation of changes. You will be regularly working with internal Security Integration/Escalation teams, and vendors to resolve issue that may arise during change implementations as well as investigating the root cause.

What will you do?

Work a regular weekend shift (Sat-Sun 07:00 – 19:00) as well as Monday and Friday (09:00 – 17:00)

Review change tasks assigned by internal Security Integration teams to ensure resource availability, weigh operational risks and assess the quality of the implementation MOPs.

Execute security infrastructure configuration changes, platform upgrades and hardware refreshes according to documented MOPs across the global enterprise.

Work with escalation teams and vendor TAC to resolve issues that may be encountered during change implementation.

Respond to event and incident escalations from the NOC that may have been caused by the changes being implemented.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

Solid understanding and troubleshooting capability of network & application protocols ( ARP, HSRP, VRRP, VRF, Cluster XL, DNS, DHCP, FTP, HTTP, TLS )

Solid understanding of TCP/IP, including packet inspection/protocol analysis using packet analyzers for troubleshooting is highly desired.

Knowledge of security concepts such as NAT/PAT, IPSEC, DDoS, IP Spoofing etc.

Excellent understanding of the OSI model

Experience working with the following network and security appliances/vendors:

Pulse Secure & Citrix Netscaler (Remote Access VPN)

Check Point & Palo Alto Firewalls.

Broadcom ProxySG / SSLV (Internet Surfing)

FireEye (Malware detection)

Arbor Pravail (DDoS mitigation)

Cisco Firepower (IPS/IDS)

Fortinet Fortigate ( IPSEC Site-to-Site VPN)

Nice to Have

Sound understanding and working knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)

College diploma or University degree related to Information Technology, with a focus on Telecommunications

CCNP R&S/DC certification or equivalent level of knowledge

Fluency in programming languages and automation tools (Python, Ansible, etc.) is considered an asset
