JOB SUMMARY

This position provides technology service and support at an engineering level to elevate the reliability, stability, security and performance of all telecommunications and networking systems in leveraging efficiencies for Credit Union personnel through use of computing technologies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Utilize service desk system to resolve issues reported and route tickets appropriately.

Manage, maintain, and support network security, servers, and appliances on local and wide area networks for day to day operations.

Manage, maintain, install, and support new system installations.

Assist in preparation and purchase of technologies for the credit union.

Manage, maintain network security and stability by monitoring network systems via use of monitoring and alerting systems.

Manage, maintain, support, design, and configure telepresence video conferencing systems

Manage, maintain, and review logs periodically to ensure security and functionality.

Manage, maintain, and support network security of routers, switches, and gateways.

Manage and maintain compliance with policies and standards.

Manage, maintain, install, configure, and support LAN/WAN architecture.

Manage, maintain, and support network and VoIP systems.

Communicate with various software and hardware vendors concerning products and services.

Perform network backup and restore strategies to ensure data integrity.

Perform IT on-call duties as assigned.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Knowledge of:

Telecommunications system providers
Planning and development, capacity, structure, installation, and maintenance
Technology and various software systems
Problem solving of complex technological environments
Engineering principals in networking technologies

  • Ability to:

Read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form

QUALIFICATIONS

Critical Development Experiences:

Pursue opportunities for professional growth and development through training, education and self-study

Successfully complete all applicable compliance training and testing

Education and experience equivalent to:

Seven to ten years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience

A four-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school equivalent to approximately 128 credit hours

Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.

Salary depends on qualifications.

REQUIREMENTS

Regular attendance and timeliness are essential functions of this position. While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for a significant period of time and perform functions that require manual dexterity. The employee must occasionally reach above or below normal body position, stoop or bend, and carry, lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. A normal range of hearing, vision, and speech are required to effectively work with co-employees and members.
