The Client Operations and Business Transformation team develops and manages innovative programs to come up with solutions addressing the challenges faced by businesses. From concept creation to development and implementation, the team supports and leads development work with multi-sector teams to optimize the benefits for our clients, create a one-of-a-kind client experience and support corporate strategies.

As Senior Program Manager, you must have the leadership skills needed to keep our development activities aligned with the corporate strategy and business plan. As an integration expert, you’ll be responsible for the coherence and development of the various aspects of the proposed solutions, including network technology, IT system, operating model and service migration. To achieve this, you will of course need to communicate clearly with experts from multiple sectors to inspire them and ensure the quality, alignment and coordination of their work with broader strategies. When challenges arise, you will overcome them by seeking to understand, by showing creativity, by communicating with the people involved, and by collaborating and negotiating with them. You will serve as a link with the executive team with regard to the program’s content and vision. Under your leadership, the teams will complete all of their projects on time while respecting high quality standards and achieving the established objectives. As such, you will promote TELUS’s visibility as an industry leader in integrated managed solutions.

What you’ll do

• As an industry expert, you will:
• Manage yearly strategic roadmap development activities with Marketing
• Clearly define the scope and expected benefits of the program’s various projects
• Assist project teams with content and development directions
• Provide comparative analyses of different potential solutions and produce expert recommendations
• Train and guide team members in the newest project/program management methodologies

• As a business partner, you will:
• Create and analyze cases and decisions to define requirements, and engage expert collaborators in a creative approach to achieve business plan objectives and make our offerings stand out
• Lead cost/benefit analyses to mitigate risks and seize relevant opportunities

• As a planner, you will:
• Manage the program’s executive risks and help project teams to develop mitigation plans
• Develop and monitor the program quality plan
• Monitor costs, timetables and technical performance of the components delivered by different projects within the program

• As a manager of expert collaboration, you will:
• Foster trusting relationships with various TELUS collaborators and groups across all levels of the organization
• Resolve problems and disputes arising from the large number of projects and from changes caused by ambiguous situations, in order to reassure project teams
• Execute project plans (quality, risk, communication, staffing, etc.) to harmonize program results with stakeholder expectations and standards

• As an innovator, you will:
• Question the status quo and motivate your collaborators to do the same
• Take calculated risks, present new approaches and create new best practices

What You Bring

Qualifications

• Familiarity and experience with the methodologies, principles and practices involved in managing complex programs and development activities
• Experience in modelling complex environments
• Good understanding of traditional telecom services and cloud-based services
• Experience in digital business transformation and technology migration
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and cross-functional teams
• Interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Organizational, budgeting and time-management skills
• University diploma
• 7 to 10 years of equivalent experience, with a minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in managing cross-functional programs and stakeholder groups

Great-to-haves

• Academic training in engineering, IT and/or administration
• Training in ITIL and Agile
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Own.it, or equivalent certification
