Senior Project Director, Telephony

Location: Vancouver/Victoria, BC; Onsite/Offsite work; Consultant to reside locally in BC.

Start Date: Sep 06, 2022 (or within two weeks’ notice).

Duration: One (1) year initial contract; extendible for up to another two (2) years.

Project / Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Project Director to develop a strategic plan, provide leadership and direction to the organization to transition to NG-911 network (telephony infrastructure) effectively and efficiently. Coordinate with Client 911 partners, stakeholders, vendors and clients to develop a thorough step-by-step detailed transition plan. Meet with organizational executive leadership to present and approve transition plan, provide regular updates, build a budget and approve financing. Build and lead project team. In conjunction with project team, Client partners and service providers, oversee the development of call handling platform to support Client needs and requirements. Work with project manager to develop tasks, timelines and milestones for transition. Work with Client partners, service providers and vendors to develop service agreements and sustainment plan.

Responsibilities / Deliverables:

The Sr. Project Directorresponsibilities/deliverables may include, but may not be limited to:

a. Developing a strategic plan, providing leadership and direction to the organization to transition to NG-911 network effectively and efficiently.

Experience / Skills Requirements:

The Sr. Project Director should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

1. Degree, Diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience in related field.

• (10) years experience in Project Management including 4+ years at Project Director or similar/higher level role.

3. Project leadership, technical business analysis and software project management experience (Required).

4. Strong organization and interpersonal communications skills (Required).

5. Awareness and knowledge of NG-911 initiative (Required).

6. Knowledge of 911 telephony requirements (Required).

7. Experience with public safety telecommunication, specifically telephony, systems (Required)

8. Experience with Canadian public sector procurement (Desirable).

• Technical working experience in 911 industry (Desirable).
• Very good Communication (oral and written), organization, facilitation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
