Senior RF Technician – Land Mobile Radio

Omega Communications Ltd. is the leading “Mission Critical” voice and data LMR communications provider in the BC Interior. We have an opening to replace a retiring Senior RF Technician reporting out of our head office in beautiful Kelowna, BC.

You will be responsible for the installation and servicing of a number of unique radio communications systems. These are anything from a 911 dispatch centre, to a solar powered mountain top repeater site, to municipalities pump station (SCADA systems).

It’s a physical job, so you need to be healthy. Tower climbing is not required (have others than can) but desired and high angle rescue training / certification is provided.

We are a Motorola dealer and also carry Icom and Hytera radios as well.

Responsibilities include:

· Complete technical installations and service assignments provided by Service Coordinator.

· Follow instructions on sales and work orders.

· Liaise with the Service Coordinator, sales people, suppliers and customers to complete necessary tasks.

· Timely completion of all required paperwork such as completed work orders, system documentation, time sheets and any other paperwork deemed necessary.

· Keep work bench and vehicle in a neat state.

· Take the required courses and certificates as deemed necessary by the company.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $30.00-$37.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Kelowna, BC V1X 5C3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

• AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

• telecommunication: 3 years (preferred)
• RF Technical: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• BC Driver’s License (preferred)
