At the Friedrichsdorf site, Valeo Telematik and Akustik GmbH develops and manufactures innovative communication electronics for intelligent telematics, in order to network telecommunications, navigation, positioning and information technology and to increase driving comfort and traffic safety. These challenges await you

• Responsible for the development of Linux software on Qualcomm modem chipsets
• Develop, adapt and bugfix kernel drivers, DTS and Kernel debugging
• Connect hardware and software – interface between hardware and software departments
• Support in hardware selection
• Responsible for HW bring-up activities, analysis of schematics, definition of software adaptations, implementation, reviews and test strategy
• Communication with the supplier as well as contacting the chipset manufacturer
• Responsible for design and code reviews and creation of Performance System-on-Chip (SoC) designs
• Development of prototypes
• Contributions and involvement in concept and feasibility projects
• Involvement in Yocto BSP customization
• Documentation in English and German

Are you ready for it?

• Successfully completed degree in computer engineering or computer science or equivalent
• 10 years experience in kernel programming and 5 years experience hardware bring-up
• Proficiency in programming languages C
• Experience with embedded systems required
• Experience in bootloader development (Secondary bootloader/UEFI, fastboot)
• Experience with hardware debuggers, and oscilloscope
• Experience call up of hardware peripheral (like ethernet, phy, codec, RAM)
• Kernel debugging skills
• Configuration Management with git, gerrit, TeamForge or similar
• Result and solution-oriented approach as well as focus on internal and external customers
• High level of initiative and commitment, communication and teamwork skills
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required, German is an advantage
