The IoT Industry Solutions team is a “start-up” within TELUS that is focused on building end-to-end customer solutions that combine the strengths of our networks, leading SaaS and platform partnerships, our breadth of customer relationships, and the power of data insights. The Agriculture team within Industry solutions owns the success of focused vertical solutions in Agriculture & IoT.

The Senior Strategy Manager plays a crucial role in executing this vision by refining our multi-year strategic planning, leading deep-dive market analysis and financial projections, developing and communicating the commercialization plan for our solutions, and aligning stakeholders to support a non-traditional business. We’re passionate about building new business areas for TELUS and will succeed by bringing clarity and focus to the challenge.

  • Build on & refine the Agriculture & IoT strategy
  • Ensure our solutions address real customer needs and operational realities
  • Harness deep internal knowledge and industry partnerships to prove business viability and gain momentum
  • Scale our solutions into businesses of consequence backed by an efficient end-to-end value chain

Here’s how:

Work with the Director, Products & Services to:

  • Develop & refine the vertical’s strategic plan & financial modeling
  • Build a rural connectivity strategy, productizing solutions for farmers and ranchers, as well as influencing network infrastructure discussions to increase rural coverage
  • Lead strategic deep dive investigations and recommendations for the team
  • Conduct regular market and competitive analyses to validate our approach
  • Identify and address organizational gaps required to enable a non-traditional business
  • Manage executive updates to provide support for our plan

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Proven financial modeling, ability to create well-grounded business cases
  • Adept with a variety of analytical methodologies and frameworks for strategic assessments
  • Telecom experience, with a passion for improving rural connectivity and solving complex problems
  • Practical, customer-in understanding of what’s required to be commercially successful in B2B
  • Knack for simplifying complex information into coherent, compelling and actionable narratives
  • Confident collaborator across diverse stakeholder groups to bring alignment on our key areas of opportunity
  • Comfortable with working in a dynamic environment and a willingness to go deep where required
  • Outcome oriented and experienced in product management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or other related fields

Great-to-haves

  • MBA
  • Direct B2B experience
  • Experience in Agriculture
  • Understanding of telecom & IT products and solutions
  • Experience in strategy or management consulting
