Within the Chief Development Office (CDO) business unit, leading the path to position TELUS for long-term success that delivers on the promise of a connected digital world. This journey involves our teams becoming increasingly cloud-focused and embracing new ways of working. Together, we drive the high level planning, coordination, and mobilization of transformation initiatives in CDO. We lead technology strategy, transformation planning, investment management and executing on strategic programs.

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

As a Senior Strategy Manager, you will be part of a high profile strategy team responsible for shaping the capabilities, technology and architecture of the new Commerce (Buy and Get) Journeys enabled for our Customers across our Product offerings. You will build and drive the strategy to enable these journeys and dependent capabilities across multiple technology teams, vendors and business partners.

You will support TELUS’s transformation you will develop ongoing perspectives on how market and industry headwinds will shape and evolve our strategy. You will also build and apply your knowledge to create unique insights combining both internal and external points of view and data to support executive decision making.

You will also provide hands-on support to executive leadership teams to prepare and develop annual strategy plans that will inform annual planning to our executive leadership.

Finally, you will be the glue ensuring teams can translate our strategy into executable plans with measurable results

Here’s how

Support annual strategy reviews with executive and C-suite leadership, this includes material creation, and coordinating across teams and business units.

Work on strategic requests from senior leadership (e.g. 5G and Wireless build models, financial modeling in the age of agile)

Develop executive level presentation material and support efforts to socialize and get buy in from senior leaders

Establish insights function that will provide relevant market and technology news and POVs across the Business Unit. This also includes creating unique insights that amalgamate 3rd party research, POVs with TELUS data.

Collaborate closely with leaders and partners to develop, articulate and align our strategic roadmap

Qualifications

Expertise navigating complex organizational dynamics and connecting the dots across teams to deliver on goals

Exceptional communication skills, including compelling storytelling and presentations to executive audiences

Embrace agile thinking and ways of working to be flexible and adaptable

Demonstrate a “can-do” attitude that fosters a positive productive working environment, especially in stressful or pressured situations

Be flexible, organized, and open to feedback with excellent follow-through skills

Work effectively as part of a team and independently to meet agreed-upon deadlines

Exceptional collaboration, relationship management, influencing and negotiation skills

Understanding of emerging technologies and industry trends

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology Management, Engineering or relatable

Great-to-haves

5-7 years of experience in a Management Consulting, Digital agency, or Corporate Strategy setting

5-7 years of experience working in the telecommunications industry or equivalent technology background

Experience helping organizations evolve ways of working (i.e. Agile, Design Thinking, SAFe), defining and implementing new operating models and/or standing up Transformation efforts

Experience in developing and implementing Value Realization Offices to track value being generated through strategic initiatives and support identifying tactics to improve value generation

Master’s degree in Business
