General Summary
We currently have an opening for a Senior or Level II Telecommunications Engineer. The successful candidate will help architect, engineer and develop specifications for telecommunications (data, voice, telemetry and carrier communication) networks company-wide; lead and assist in the evaluation, selection and integration of telecommunications and related equipment and services; ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of the company’s telecommunications networks; plus, lead and assist in the ongoing support and maintenance of the networks. A main focus of the role will be on supporting our Trunked Mobile Radio (TMR) system.
Qualifications:
- Senior position requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic, or computer engineering and 6 plus years of relevant experience in telecommunications engineering and/or network systems and PE licensure
- Level II position requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic or computer engineering and two plus year of experience designing telecommunications systems
- Strong working knowledge of telecommunications principles, leading/commonly used telecommunications protocols and integration of same.
- Must have radio frequency (RF) wireless experience.
- Excellent analytical, interpretive, interpersonal, problem- solving, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, design, and estimating.
- Proficient in managing multiple projects, coordinating assignments, and handling multiple tasks concurrently.
- EIT and/or PE are preferred
- Utility experience is preferred.
