Senior Telecommunications Estimator – Telecommunications Company – Base Salary to 100k/year – Elk Grove, CA

• Our client is a wireless telecommunications company that builds new cell site construction projects throughout all of California, as well as Nevada and Oregon. Projects include “raw land” and collocating installations, tower erection, tower/RF modifications and structural upgrades, electrical upgrades, microwave installation and path alignments, cellular DAS installations, public Safety DAS installations (ERRCS / ERCES), CRAN / small cell installation and modifications, ROW Construction, fiber OSP installations and low voltage installations. • They are currently seeking a Senior Telecommunications Estimator who will be responsible for overseeing the estimating process, quality control of bid submissions, provide estimates, participating with senior management in sales, project selection, concept development of construction methods, and establishing procedures for the department. All estimators are expected to participate in business development events and required to maintain client relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of estimates and proposals for assigned projects in compliance with standard processes.
• Collaborate with management in selecting projects to bid.
• Work with operations to estimate labor costs.
• Assess labor availability and resources.
• Ensure all project-specific considerations and assumptions have been analyzed, costs are accurate, and proposal letter clearly communicates and qualifies the bid.
• Value engineering of new or alternate materials, means, and methods of construction.
• Qualification of proposals from suppliers’ subcontractors; own the procurement process, as directed.
• Coordinate with clients and customers for bid walk scheduling.
• Develops Estimating Procedures and works with other Project Managers and Directors in the process.
• Updates Bid Tracking and adheres to the Bid Tracking Policy.
• Participate in the Daily Status check-in for daily, weekly, and lookahead objective review.
• Conduct training, supervision, and review for estimating personnel when needed.
• Develop and Maintain Client and Vendor Relationships.
• Assist Business Development with sales presentations to customer base and new prospects.
• Attend events and functions relevant to estimating and bidding.
• Participate in the development of business and marketing plans.
• Contribute to the setting of volume and revenue goals.
• Develop subcontractor relationships: Qualification of subcontractor service offerings and abilities.
• Communicate timing of submissions.
• Provide feedback on price, quality, and speed of work
• Communicate potential hazards, pain/pinch-points to mitigate surprises on a project.

Qualifications:

• BS in Construction Management (or related degree) or 5+ years relevant experience in a senior estimator role.
• CPE, CCEA, CCE, or relevant estimating
• PMP certification preferred.
• Project management experience in the telecommunication industry

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 86k – 100k/year range
