Minimum Qualifications

Completion of 60 semester credits to include 15 semester credits in a computer related field and three years of experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of personal computers and related equipment are required; Completion of a vocational or trade school program in the installation, maintenance or repair of personal computers and related equipment along with three years of experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of personal computers and related equipment are required; or High school diploma or GED and four years of experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of personal computers, VOIP systems and their network protocols, Cable TV maintenance and repair. Must possess a Driver license.


Recruitment Notes

This is a technical position performing work in the installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs of complex radio system infrastructure equipment in a multisite telecommunications operation. Employees in this class are responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of complex audio and microwave transmission systems; digital and analog fixed radio communication infrastructure equipment; portable and mobile radio systems; OC3 and IP microwave transport systems and equipment and dispatch consoles. Duties include troubleshooting of hardware and software problems, faulty circuitry, transmission and distribution lines, installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment to the component level and preventive maintenance of this equipment. This position entails the application of fundamental and advanced principles, techniques, practices, and methods of electronic technology. Employee exercise some independent judgement ensuring timely responses to critical telecommunications infrastructure activities.
