Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Mechanical and Pneudraulics Field Engineer. This position will be located in Vandenberg AFB, California and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program.
What You’ll Get To Do:
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
- Inspect, repair, maintain support equipment, including life support equipment, lifting equipment, proof-loading hoisting equipment, welding, fabrication, and paint
- Responsible for integration, assembly and test of aerospace flight vehicle and ground support equipment.
- Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
- Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
- Read and understand engineering documentation that applies to laboratory setup and integration.
- Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports.
- conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
- Able to implement best practices in demonstrates good hardware configuration management and tool accountability
- Able to read drawings, blueprints, diagrams and create work instructions/procedures
- Utilize MS products; Word, Excel, and Visio.
- Effectively communicate issues and help to provide solutions.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Job Qualifications:
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- 2 Years of experience with Bachelor’s Degree; 0 Years with Masters
- Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 5 years.
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
- Bachelor’s degree waived with Associates degree in a related field and 4 years of ICBM maintenance experience
- Prior experience in an integration, production, manufacturing or test environment or like type work in a military setting.
- Experience with common hand tools and test equipment found in an integration, production, manufacturing or test environment
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Active Top Secret security clearance with adjudication in the last 6 years
- ICBM Maintenance or aerospace integration, assembly, and test experience
- Commercial Driver’s License valid in California and Utah
