Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Power, Refrigeration, and Electrical (PREL) Principal Field Engineer. This position will be located in Vandenberg Space Force Base, California and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program as part of the System Test Team (STT) Integrated Product Team (IPT).
What You’ll Get To Do:
Inspection, maintenance, repairs and modifications of AC and DC power generation systems, HVAC systems and support equipment.
Perform a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as life support equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, maintenance support vehicles, battery back-up systems, test equipment, and software at customer and/or field locations.
Analyze and evaluate products and related performance.
Analyzing and evaluating products and related performance.
Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.
Install, upgrade and remove products ensuring coordinative engineering field change.
Maintain effective customer communications and relations.
Provide onsite training of customer support personnel, when necessary.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Job Qualifications:
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- 5 Years of experience with Bachelor’s Degree; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD An additional 4 years of experience be considered in lieu of a degree.
- US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years)
- Prior experience in an integration, production, manufacturing or test environment or similar work
- Experience with common hand tools and test equipment found in an integration, production, manufacturing or test environment
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Associates degree in a related field
- 5+ years’ experience managing Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) systems, programs or projects
- Experience as a member of an ICBM maintenance team leading Minuteman III PREL or other missile systems technicians
- Active Top Secret security clearance with adjudication in the last 6 years
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) valid in California and Utah
- Prior military experience
