We are looking for a low voltage service technician in the Western Washington area to install, maintain, repair and upgrade all types of communications systems, data, voice and fiber cables. Your goal will be to provide friendly and high-quality services to our customers. Responsibilities include installation, maintenance and field service for voice, video and data cabling systems. To succeed in this role, you need to be detail-oriented with a background in low voltage or electrical.
Low Voltage Service Technician Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair electronic devices that require servicing, including computers and mobile devices.
- Service customers in a timely and efficient manner.
- Resolve customer problems by implementing methods recommended by the manufacturer.
- May need to disassemble a device and perform minor repairs, such as cleaning connections, replacing broken parts and replacing batteries.
- Assist customers with software and hardware installation issues.
- May be required to do some production support or troubleshooting to resolve issues.
- Maintain service logbooks for tracking work performed on equipment and for reporting purposes.
- Install computer software, peripheral equipment, etc.
- Lift at least 50 lbs.
- Be comfortable using 10’/12′ ladders.
- Fish walls and conduit.
- Pull various low voltage cables (Cat 5/6, speaker wire, coax).
- General understanding of how routers and switches work.
- Terminate various copper cables.
The following skills are preferred, but not required:
- Read a blueprint or markup.
- Operate scissor lifts/boom lifts.
- Assigning static IP addresses.
On-the-job training will be available to all employees for all necessary skills needed.
A company vehicle will be provided. A clean driving record is required. You will be required to keep your assigned work vehicle at your residence and report to your scheduled job sites each day. This is a non-negotiable requirement.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour
