The GO Expansion scope : new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

Purpose of the Job

Be a part of the task execution within the Service Engineering department, in the Maintenance Engineering team, mainly supporting the engineering team to lead the team performing due diligence inspections and asset configuration survey of the signaling and communications equipment on the GO Transit network.

Responsibilities

Execution of the preventive and corrective maintenance for Railways Signaling and Security On Board system (mainly ERTMS), following the Quality, Safety and EHS procedures.

Technical analysis of faults, Software/HW development and integration skills, IoT, Big Data for main train systems, apart from Signaling.

Create different reports (contractual, technical, etc.) to explain incidents for tracking fleet reliability

Planning of activities, updates of procedures and manuals in collaboration with Engineering department, training of maintenance workers.

Define with the Project lead of the project, the features expected for diagnosis tool, to improve its performance

Support changes to improve the performance of the different retrofits outspreaded in the customer fleet

Cooperate in the implementation of new tools to monitor new subsystems

Support the objective of contractual reliability and availability indicators/commitments.

Apply Continuous Improvement and promote its culture.

Comply with Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational health regulations.

Measurement

Contractual indicators of the projects assigned to their responsibility. Mainly focus on Availability, Reliability and train performance.

Objectives established annually according to compliance with performance indicators for standard works and compliance with contractual objectives.

Main lines KPI’s.

Customer satisfaction.

Educational Requirements

Mandatory: Telecommunication or Industrial Technician

Desirable: Technical degree in Telecommunication or Industrial Engineer or similar (Electrical, Electronical or Mechanical Engineering)

Experience

Mandatory:
At least, 3 years of experience in a similar industrial environment, if with a technical degree in Telecommunication or Industrial Engineer or similar

Experience in railway maintenance and with railway normative, especially in Signaling and Security on board systems.

Experience with Office package.

Desirable:
Knowledge of electrical, traction and brake system for railway or similar

SAP, GSI or other ERP system

Competencies & Skills

Fluency in English is mandatory

Fluency in French is an asset

Analytical skills, good interpersonal skills.

Ability to make decisions and sense of urgency (sets priorities and reacts immediately when confronted with a problem)

Proactivity in proposing solutions, capable of managing multiple / high-priority assignments

Flexibility and adaptability (ability to evaluate alternative ways of achieving objectives)
