The Manager of Account Management is responsible for the management of the account management staff and will include monitoring personal production, effectiveness, profitability, and process for existing accounts of Small Business customers. This Small Business market has customers employing from 2-99 employees.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages the account management and/or the account service functions
  • Manages to retention strategy and growth for existing business
  • Responsible for account management effectiveness in Small Business
  • Recruits, trains, and coaches the account management staff
  • Coordinate and influence superior customer service delivery by developing and maintaining strong intercompany relationships
  • Forges relationships with key customers and consultants; acts as main contact for UnitedHealthcare
  • Develop and monitor client financial performance including renewal planning, negotiation and profitability levels
  • Consistently exceeds objectives for profitability and persistency
  • Secure new business through marketing and effective product and service expansion
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert for products, service and technology aspects
  • Demonstrate marketing and technical expertise through: Client, broker and consultant meetings. Assessment of approach, resources, and contacts needed to complete RFP’s

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of account management experience
  • Sales insurance license must be maintained as required by state law
  • Proven track record in results-oriented account management and sales/service environment
  • Demonstrates expertise in account management and is knowledgeable of a full range of products
  • Customer-focused; able to work with employers, consumers, consultants, brokers
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license; travel as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience, working with account management staff in a sales environment
  • 3+ years of account management experience in the insurance industry

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
