Software Engineer

Enghouse Networks is looking for a Software Engineer/Database Developer to join our growing team!

The Role:

The Application Developer will join the Enghouse Networks team, which provides real-time solutions to the telecommunications industry. The role will require a mix of technical excellence, good communication skills, and process knowledge to support and manage our customer’s environments.

What you will be doing:

• Develop applications using scripting languages such as JAVA and Python
• Develop complex database objects like Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, and Triggers using SQL and PL/SQL
• Install Oracle 18c/11g in RHEL 6/7 environment
• Implement, administer, and maintain RHEL 6/7 environments
• Develop web APIs to expose core data
• Help with tier 1/2 support for all customers via phone, email & ticketing system
• Have the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, sometimes on short notice due to the nature of a 24×7 operation, requires on-call participation in a rotating schedule
• Handle customer cases through their entirety providing service that is in line with the SLA contract
• Escalate any potential problems and client support issues as per the SLA contract
• Coordinate with 3rd party vendors both HW and SW to manage resolution on behalf of customers
• Monitor and analyze customer’s environments, providing recommendations for continuous improvements
• Use knowledge to provide risk analysis and recommendations
• Ensure that department policies and procedures are adhered to
• Participate in monthly customer support reviews as required

• Run and monitor software performance tests, execute functional tests

What you have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer, Systems Engineering, or equivalent
• 2+ years hands-on experience with scripting languages such as JAVA, PL/SQL, Python
• 2+ years hands-on experience in Oracle 18c/11g
• 2+ years hands-on experience working with RHEL 6/7
• The ability to be a self-starter, and be able to manage expectations with customers
• A strong ability to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate with colleagues, customers, and suppliers – in person, on phone, and by written communications
• Strong communication skills and a strong sense of urgency
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; client-centric, professional, friendly, courteous
• Advanced troubleshooting Skills
• Supporting and Deployment of applications
• Ability to work independently and with other teams to drive issues to resolution
