JOB SUMMARY
The Sr Communications Specialist delivers the business goals by developing and executing robust internal and editorial communication strategies. The Sr Communications Specialist is an expert in all forms of communication and will establish, maintain, and continually improve a holistic, proactive, and effective communications process for the Product & Technology Organization.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Collaborate with leaders to develop and execute an effective communications strategy for customers and stakeholders.
Create and maintain a repository of standard communication templates to be leveraged throughout the organization.
Collect and organize facts of highly complex issues, and produce production show flows, talking points, executive summaries, presentations, surveys, event-specific communications, and detailed documents, using the appropriate types, methods, and tools needed for each communication.
Manage proactive and reactive communications, conveying complex information in a manner that is easy to understand at multiple level of the organization.
Create and manage Product & Technology organizational communications; and HR team welcome, new hire, promotion, retirement, and All Hands communications.
Manage HR team new hire onboarding experience.
Develop regular feedback channels to promote cross-communication within Charter and to ensure consistency and timeliness of messages, driving continuous improvement of communications.
Performs other duties as requested.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret data related to complex concepts and summarize them into clear and concise content
- Ability to develop communication strategies and tracking metrics
- Manage cross-functional communication projects in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines
- Demonstrated project management and process improvement skills
- Ability to own and support content development, design, review, and approval for communications initiatives
- Expert level skill in MS Office package (MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Effective organizational skills and comfort functioning as an individual contributor, as well as leading project teams
- Ability to grasp new concepts quickly
- Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
- Integrity, sound judgment, and out-of-the-box thinking are a must with the ability to add value through effective networks and collaboration with all colleagues
Required Education
BA/BS degree in communications or related field with 4-6 years relevant experience or Master’s degree and 2-4 years of experience in communications
Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
Communications, Public Relations, Public Affairs experience – 5+
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Familiarity with Adobe Campaign
Expert level skill in SurveyMonkey
Familiarity with Webex Meeting/Event and Teams
Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator
Event Experience skills
Familiarity with Charter’s Panorama site and tools
Knowledge of Telecommunications products/services/terminology
Preferred Education
BA/BS degree in communications or related field with 4-6 years relevant experience or Master’s degree and 2-4 years of experience in communications, preferably in a large company with a focus on stakeholder communications (executive and technical communications)
Preferred Related Work Experience and Number of Years
Telecommunications and IT–oriented communications experience

The pay for this position has a salary range of $65,300.00 to $104,500.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
