Sr. Network Engineer

Department – Information Management Services Division (IT)

Salary Pay Range: $76,024.00 – $ 93,808.00

Job Summary:
The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible to provide strategic planning, innovative solutions and advanced technical knowledge to design, implement and support enterprise voice, video and data services that align with the Company’s business and IT objectives. This position will provide hands-on technical leadership and will manage simple and enterprise-wide projects from initiation to completion for the voice, video and data infrastructure, complex engineering environments. The Senior Network Engineer will partner with leaders in other business unit/operational areas to define requirements and develop architecture for scalable and reliable network infrastructure to meet present and future business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Installation, maintenance and enhancements of a global Cisco wired and wireless network that delivers voice, video and data services on corporate production and guest networks. Palo Alto experience. Cisco 9K Wireless. VOIP experience a plus. Cisco ISE and Cisco Prime DNAC. Ekahau experience.
  • Coordinates and implements low to high-risk network changes according to ITIL framework, independently to mission critical functional areas while following established designs and configurations already developed. Understanding and past experience with cloud environments a plus. Past experience writing processes/guidelines.
  • Assist with developing standards, policies and configuration guidelines. Establish and document standards and procedures for team review. Python experience a Plus. SolarWinds understanding a huge plus.
  • Perimeter network security Firewalls. Working closely with Milwaukee County Security Team to maintain Palo Alto firewalls best practices and recommended policies based on business needs.
  • Perform work outside of normal business hours related but not limited to: on-call incident escalation and off-hours maintenance work.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current resident of the State of Wisconsin
  • Valid WI Driver’s License
  • Associates Degree in IT related field.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in IT related field.

License/ Certifications:

  • Preferred – CCNA or Comptia N+
  • Preferred – CCNP
  • Preferred – PCNSA or PCNSE
