Position Overview:

As a member of a high-performing team, we are seeking an Sr. Network Engineer to support video teleconferencing, voice over internet protocol, telecommunication acquisition, cloud services, and unified communication services.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan designs or redesign systems, management, and coordination
  • Respond to Video over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and Unified Communication (UC) customer inquiries

  • Manage caseloads, through analyzing, and escalating issues by carrying out solutions, executing reports, and tracking tickets to completion

  • Test and analyze all elements of the network facilities including power, software, communications devices, lines, modems, and terminals
  • Ensure the overall integration of the enterprise network
  • Monitor and control the performance and status of the network resources
  • Utilize software and hardware tools and identify and diagnose highly complex problems and factors affecting network performance
  • Maintain technical currency and study vendor products to determine which best meet client needs
  • Provide guidance and direction to network support technicians. May be responsible for designing new internet protocol version 6 (IPv6) networks and/or planning the transition from IPv4 to IPv6.
  • Recommend and administer the Life Cycle Replacement of field location route/switch hardware
  • Provide Wide Area Network (WAN) configuration to support the IPSec tunnels over the public Internet
  • Provide Local Area Network (LAN) configuration that conforms to the MRP network standards
  • Perform hub site engineering, configuring, and troubleshooting of the IPsec headend hardware where all the overseas tunnels connect to in Ft. Collins, Co.
  • Provide high-quality technical network documentation and topology drawings
  • Communicate with various stakeholders within the Mission Area to convey technical concepts and recommendations.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all things related to the overseas network covering all program requirements, network hardware systems deployed, and various routing/switch technologies utilized
  • Daily monitoring of WAN utilization and network response time
  • Ensure the network hardware is functioning and client machines can connect, obtain an IP address and properly route over the IPsec tunnel
  • Respond to security vulnerabilities received from the Cyber Security office
  • Planning for and executing IOS code upgrades on the routers and switches
  • Monitoring ISD/Network Service Now ticket queue to ensure all ticket SLAs are met
  • Travelling to an overseas location if required to support any troubleshooting or upgrade efforts

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, or engineering discipline (preferred)
  • At least Five (5) years of specific job-related experience or eight (8) years of general related experience
  • At least one-year experience with ServiceNow software
  • At least of two years of Customer Service experience
  • Ability to work independently and work alternate hours when needed
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good listening and communication skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of networks, video teleconferencing, and cloud migrations
  • Working knowledge of online systems
  • Ability to learn quickly, work well under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
  • Cisco associate level certification
  • A strong sense of professionalism and customer service
  • Must be a US Citizen
