Short Description for Internal Candidates

Position Summary: The Sr. Network engineer is responsible for the research, planning, project management, deployment, support and maintenance of Black Box networks, customer facing networks, network security and associated hardware and software subsystems. This includes third level support of end users in their use of the Black Box network infrastructure.

Description for Internal Candidates

Job Responsibilities:

· Ownership and responsibility for medium and high user impact network technologies.

· Design, implement, maintain and support Black Box’s communications networks, including the Black Box LAN/WAN, internet access, network security, remote access, network services, and all related telecommunications hardware and software components.

· Design, implement, maintain, and support secure and scalable business-to-business and external communications network between Black Box and external organizations.

· Provide third-tier support working directly with vendors, service providers, end-users, and other IT personnel to isolate and resolve network hardware and network related software communications issues.

· Works with manufacturers, vendors, service providers, and other organizations to provide recommendations and determine areas to research, validate and implement upgrades, enhancements, or configuration changes to ensure compatibility and enhance performance of Black Box communication networks.

· Examines projects for security concerns and makes recommendations for a reasonable solution.

· Able to read, write and interpret various correspondence, memos and instructions.

· Understanding of basic mathematical concepts, such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.

· Proficient in basic to intermediate computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office.

· Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Qualifications:

· Bachelors in CIS, or equivalent education and work experience

· 7-10 years of experience in supporting enterprise networks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
