Your future duties and responsibilities
As a system programmer, you will be working on major initiatives within the Mainframe practices! This role will require communication and interaction with multiple internal and external clients such as third party partners, vendors, network, data center and client engagement teams to ensure the smooth implementations of changes in the environments. You will also have to share knowledge with the rest of the teams, coach and mentor team members, address issues and seize opportunities to develop improvements and new service offerings.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Install, propagate, maintain and support telecommunications software on centralized z/Series servers;
- Master the basic tools specific to z/Series servers as well as Communication Server (CS) and VTAM;
- Perform problem determination and resolution;
- Diagnose sophisticated problems, propose and implement solutions adapted to customer needs;
- Handle service request and/or reported problem, follow up until resolution;
- Build and maintain technical procedures and solutions documentation;
- Provide functional analysis for new requirements and service offerings;
- Develop solutions aimed at improving processes that involve the support of our clients;
- Coach and/or mentor colleagues;
- Participate in Disaster Recovery tests;
- Provide on-call support as scheduled.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Expertise : FTP, SMTP, SNMP, TN3270; Super Session, TPX, Netview, VPS/LRS, CA-SPOOL and NDM (Connect: Direct); TCP/IP and HPR/IP (Enterprise Extender) telecommunications protocols; Cryptographic protocols (SSL/TLS) in general as well as their applications with CS for z/OS, including AT-TLS rules and the use of the “Policy AGENT”;
- Functional : HLAsm, REXX, TSO/ISPF, JCL, SMPE, z/OS, JES2, SDSF, RACF and ACF2;
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Knowledge of the ‘Software Management’, ‘Software Update’ and ‘Network Assistant’ modules of z/OSMF would be an asset.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- 10 years minimum of experience in IT *
