Responsibilities

The Sr Telecom & Internet Analyst will be responsible for strategic network planning to support Altice USA. The position will develop business cases and recommendations for optimizing the network infrastructure, maintain network inventory database, develop cost requirements, and associated budget estimates. In addition, the position will handle telephony service management. This includes managing planning, designing, and provisioning circuits for Altice USA. This position will work with all groups in the Network Engineering and Technology department. Other key elements of the role include:

  • Interface with carriers to determine the use of strategic fiber routes.
  • Provide planning information to help facilitate network design for backbone enhancements and Fiber to the Home (FTTH).
  • Develop and maintain circuit database to capture inventory, utilization and other pertinent information on each route and/or circuit.
  • Develop cost analysis and ROI for proposed plans
  • Order cage and arrange collocation arrangements
  • Manage cable facilities assignment for new collocation
  • Verification of invoices from carriers
  • Provide cost efficient solutions which provide for adequate capacity and high network reliability
  • Manage vendors to ensure timelines are met, identifying and resolving network impacting issues

Technical/Functional Competencies

A successful candidate must have extensive technical, financial and negotiation abilities in telecommunications industry.

Problem Analysis. Demonstrated ability to disaggregate and analyze problems, to probe facts, to data mine, identify and question assumptions and analyze issues from different perspectives to make the right decision.

Thorough understanding of financial and operating planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting and analysis of performance issues. Understanding of telecommunications tariff and all the economics surrounding telecommunications.Technical. Extensive knowledge of network design.


Key Experiences/Achievements

  • Cross Functional Awareness. Ability to understand and respond effectively to activity interdependencies to ensure they do not negatively affect customer satisfaction.
  • Need at least 4 years experience in working in focusing on network design and financial responsibilities.
  • Participated in negotiating and managing agreements
  • Experience planning, developing, modeling, managing work plans and budgets/forecasts.
