Strategic Procurement Specialist

As aStrategic Procurement Specialist, you will be part of the Strategic Procurementteam, grounded with the goal of optimizing our supply chain to minimize costsand maximize risk mitigation. You will oversee and manage long-term projectsthat contribute to cost savings, second sourcing and controlling pricing forvarious commodities and suppliers. Along with that, you will support otherdepartments within Trench Canada such as Engineering/R&D and Quality withsupplier-related tasks as well as supporting operations forstrategies to resolve part shortages.

HowYou’ll Make an Impact

• Develop and Implement Commodity strategiesto generate value and ensure long-term and sustainable agreement to minimizethe overall cost and ensure reliable on-time supply of materials in therequired quality
• Implement and ensure usage of globallydefined methods processes and systems (e.g. compliant to Purchase-to-Pay (P2P)process, Procurement Guidelines, IT systems and compliance);
• Align strategies and ensure closecooperation with internal customers such as Engineering, R&D, Production,Quality, as well as with the global commodity manager team
• Lead, implement or support complex supplychain projects for risk mitigation and future sustainability
• Support Supplier Management processincluding contract negotiation, qualification, selection, evaluation,classification, development and claim management, to develop the best suppliersand ensure transparency

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, BusinessAdministration or Supply Chain Management or equivalent with at least 5 yearsof successful experience in a related procurement field, contract managementand supplier management.
• Supply Chain accreditation is asset
• Specialized knowledge of some specificcommodities is an asset such as Insulators, Machined Parts, Sheet Metal parts,Conductive material, Electronics etc.
• You have strong collaboration,persuasion/influencing abilities with project management skills, and theability to drive supplier/product change projects within a cross-functionalteam
• Working knowledge of purchasingfundamentals including RFQ’s, strong ability to apply classic and advancednegotiation methods (e.g. e-Auction), Incoterms 2020 knowledge etc.
• Ability to read and understand technicaldrawings and specifications.
• Advanced Microsoft capabilities (Excel,PowerPoint, Word) and SAP is an asset
