Your transferrable skillsets might include familiarity with copper, voice, data, security, or fiber optic cabling, low voltage experience, carpentry skills, locksmithing, soft skills, a good work ethic, and a desire to learn more. Your tool kit may include snips/side cutters, fish sticks, and fish tape, socket set, wire stripper for UTP & STP, punch down tool (110 & 66), continuity tester, COAX compression RJ crimper, multi-meter, and butt set.
For this opportunity, you:
· Install copper, voice, data, security, or fiber optic cabling in addition to installing and maintaining Optical Network Terminals (ONT).
· Terminate, troubleshoot, and test copper, voice, data, security, or fiber optic cabling.
· Document cabling installations by maintaining and completing as-built drawings.
· Maintain a safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations, as well as working safely by following all safety policies and procedures inclusive of maintaining a safe driving record.
· Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
You have 1 – 5 years of experience with the ability to read and locate information on blueprints, floor plans, or schematics. Having OSHA 10 and/or confined space training are your value-adds, with BICSI certification or International Firestop Counsel certification putting you ahead of some learning curves.
