What you will do

  • Participation in the development of a LiDAR prototype

  • Implementation of object recognition using Deep Learning (Python)

  • Building or enhancing software for a LiDAR prototype

  • Documentation, maintenance, and validation of the software

  • Experimental verification of the simulation results

What you bring to the table

  • Full-time student at a German university preferably in the field of electrical engineering, communications engineering or physics with good to very good grades

  • Practical experience in the field of machine learning, preferably deep learning with Python

  • Experience with convolutional-neural-networks (CNN) and class-activation-mapping (CAM) desirable

  • Proactivity and interest in scientific work

  • Good communication skills (German/English) and team spirit

  • Hands-on laboratory experience is desirable

The position is initially limited to 6 months. An extension is explicitly desired.

The monthly working time is 80 hours.
