The Fraunhofer HHI is a world leader in research into mobile and optical communication networks and systems as well as the coding of video signals and data processing. In the PERFECT project, you will work together with our team on the further development of our LiFi technology (optical wireless transmission, light fidelity). The aim of the project is to significantly increase the data rates of our LiFi systems.

What you will do

  • Concept design for automated LiFi prototype alignment
  • Design and construction of necessary electronic circuits
  • Program the microcontroller based alignment logic based on real-time measurements
  • Integrate the device alignment sub system into the testbed

What you bring to the table

  • Full-time students of electrical engineering, physics or communications engineering with good to very good grades

  • Experience in development and implementation of simple electronic circuits

  • First experiences in microcontroller or physical computing platform programming (e.g. Arduino)

  • Ability to work independently and autonomously

The position is initially limited to 6 months. An extension is explicitly desired.

The monthly working time is 60 to 80 hours.
