Satellite-based remote sensing is an essential data source for smart farming and bioeconomic applications. The rapid development of artificial intelligence and machine learning methods enables the high-scale analysis of satellite data to derive relevant data such as soil moisture, leaf area or field boundaries. We are looking for support in the application-oriented further development of these methods.

What you will do

  • Implementation of algorithms for processing and analysis of remote sensing data

  • Evaluation of different methods for different applications

What you bring to the table

  • Enrollment with good to very good grades at a University in the Berlin area in electrical engineering, computer science, or physics

  • Experience in image processing and computer vision

  • Experience in machine learning, especially deep learning

  • Programming experience in Python

  • Ability to work in a team, independently and autonomously

  • Good command of English

The position is initially limited to 6 months. An extension is explicitly desired.

The monthly working time is 80 hours.
