Swing / Graveyard NOC Engineer

This position supports a US-based global network operations center and associated infrastructure. You must have general experience troubleshooting software, configuring hardware, and must also be proficient using the Linux command line. Looking for candidates with Debian, Ubuntu, or CentOS experience!

As a network engineer, you will work in a remote NOC environment – responding to alerts and using monitoring tools, diagnosing hardware, evaluating log files, following up on tickets and phone calls via a support queue and escalating issues to senior engineers.

Responsibilities

* Initial triage, escalation, and resolution of issues raised by monitoring and/or customer reports
* Identification, notification, and escalation of network problems
* Posting outage notifications and updates to status page and proactively communicating with impacted customers during an incident
* Communication to remote datacenter facilities to coordinate remote hands operations to resolve customer issues
* Continued communication with customers to ensure customer support SLAs are met/exceeded
* Provide situational awareness to the team through email and chat communications
* Must be able to work a set schedule without any distractions

Ideal candidates have

* Help Desk and/or Call Center Experience
* Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Experience with ticketing systems (Jira, Kayako, Zendesk, Deskpro, Ubersmith, etc)
* The ability to escalate issues to senior engineers or management
* Technical knowledge and proficiency with Linux and network protocols

Special Consideration

* Datacenter Experience
* Programming/scripting Experience (Python, PHP, C, etc.)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,635.51 – $85,000.00 per year
