Northside Hospital
Serves as Supervisor – directs the telecommunications staff, and the Hospital telephone and paging systems, including troubleshooting problems.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Completes weekly staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage on a twenty-four (24) hour basis, allowing for vacations, holidays, and sick leaves.
2. Provides twenty-four (24) hour a day service, if necessary, provides service to remote locations, and monitors the Hospital’s beeper/paging systems to ensure smooth, efficient operation.
3. Hires, trains, orients, counsels, evaluates, and administers disciplinary action up to, and including, termination.
4. Develops and maintains department policies and procedures.
5. Performs any of the duties and responsibilities of the Information Receptionist, or Communications Systems Operator, as required.
6. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury-accident to Manager.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
1. Three (3) years prior experience in telecommunications, with proven leadership ability.
2. Must have an excellent aptitude for hearing.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED
1. Five (5) years hospital telecommunications experience.
2. Two (2) years supervisory experience.
3. B.S. degree in Telecommunications or Information Systems.
