A client is looking for a Technical Project Manager to support their Research & Analytics in capacity planning, providing transparency in work being performed, and optimizing cross-team prioritization.

Location: Remote – Someone who can work on Eastern/Central Time Zone

Position: Technical Project Manager

Pay Rate: $60-70 on W2

Duration: 7 months or longer

Shift: 8:00am to 5:00pm

Description:

We’re seeking a highly-skilled technical project manager to support the client’s Research & Analytics in capacity planning, providing transparency in work being performed, and optimizing cross-team prioritization. This person will have production experience and work across teams to define and instrument JIRA solutions to support the team’s goals. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to independently lead cross-team initiatives. They will be expected to prepare and present progress updates to appropriate management channels regularly, to ensure project success is achieved.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead, build and develop the JIRA solutions for the client’s Research & Analytics to ensure capacity planning, providing transparency in the work being performed, and optimizing cross team prioritization.
  • Establish and maintain processes to manage scope over the project lifecycle, setting project quality and performance standards, and assessing and managing risk within, and across, multiple stakeholders.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with project staff from various teams.
  • Analyze project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that project team adheres to project requirements.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes.
  • Encourage collaboration through lean processes. Look to develop processes that offer high value with minimal overhead, allowing team members to focus on what they do best.
  • Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed—escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans.
  • Run meetings, record and circulate minutes, manage project plans, tickets, outage reports and other necessary documentation to keep the department running smoothly.
  • Define go forward roles and responsibilities as well as alignment needs within the Research and Analytics team.
  • Thoughtfully develop and define business requirements and KPIs that enable the business to track performance and success.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience implementing Jira across matrixed teams; Jira administration necessary; JIRA certification (nice to have, not required)
  • Proven experience in Program Management, with 5+ years of relevant experience or a relevant combination of education and experience; preferably in digital media, data engineering and/or analytics organizations.
  • Excellent project and program management skills; able to effectively juggle multiple ongoing projects and priorities to meet deadlines in both waterfall and agile workflows
  • Proven success working with all levels of management in a cross-functional organization. Excellent ability to listen, understand, and translate senior leadership needs, scope projects accordingly, negotiate objectives and deliverables, and activate the organization to deliver results
  • Accountable, goal-oriented team player; able to organize processes across teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills a must
  • Self-starter who goes the extra step in making sure a project gets launched in a fast-paced environment
  • Unmatched attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple work streams without sacrificing quality
  • Self-awareness and the ability to foster organizational harmony
  • Experience in working with Confluence
  • Experience training and educating project teams as well as teams new to Jira
  • Experience with Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs)
