Technical Project Manager, Infrastructure

HireArt is helping Woven Planet find an experienced Technical Program Manager, Infrastructure to optimize new and developing entities, find opportunities to migrate data tools, and ensure minimal disruption during a major service transition.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of technical project manager experience within IT, specifically within start-up environments. You should also have experience dealing with a team of 40-50 and have experience within a start-up or mid-sized company.

M&A (mergers & acquisitions) experience is a big plus.

As Technical Program Manager, Infrastructure, you will:

  • Manage multiple new-office buildout projects to deliver on a major network infrastructure overhaul.
  • Interact with Woven Planet technical teams to understand and document capabilities.
  • Perform technology scouting to identify an area that may benefit from Woven Planet technology, methods, results, or tools.
  • Drive and facilitate the technology transfer process, following through on connections between WP and new engineering partners.
  • Organize and drive engineering teams to define software architecture, software design, develop, test, and deploy.
  • Set, track, and report status against scope, schedule, test plan, and achievements with members of the project team and broader organization/stakeholders.
  • Identify, manage, track and communicate risks, opportunities, issues, and changes to maintain project objectives and success.
  • Facilitate inter-team collaboration, performance, and productivity through transparent and communication of requirements, dependencies, and skills needed for success.
  • Produce and deliver executive-level presentations to successfully drive projects through review gates.
  • Coordinate with other project managers, facilities management, program managers, product managers, systems engineers, software engineers, hardware engineers, researchers, suppliers, members of other WP divisions, and WP’s executive team to ensure clear communication and efficient workflow.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in project managing IT operations (Mergers & Acquisitions experience is a big plus).
  • Experienced managing networking and telecommunications build-outs.
  • Experience with G-Suite, Jira, Confluence, Slack, and video-conferencing tools
  • Experience with Portfolio for Jira and Advanced Road Maps.
  • Someone comfortable in a primarily non-software development/agile environment.
  • Ability to dive into technical details to coordinate plans and progress with individual contributors, technical leaders, and partners.
  • Organized with excellent written & verbal communication skills, good attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Flexibility working later hours (PST) to collaborate with Japan

Preferred skills but not required:

  • Language fluency in Japanese is a plus
  • Familiar working with facilities team
  • Office move experience is a plus
  • Life-cycle management tracking experience

Commitment: This is an on-going contract position staffed via HireArt and based in Palo Alto, CA or Ann Arbor, MI. There is a strong preference for individuals to be onsite (at least part time).
