Name and description of hiring department:
Business Data Assurance & Provisioning (BDAP) is the professional customer and technical services group for service level management of large, medium & small business accounts in the areas of Data, Broadband, IP and Voice. We are looking for motivated candidates with advanced telecommunications network knowledge including emphasis on IP, Data, Broadband, and Integrated Services. Data Network Operations experience is vital to achieving excellence in our mission of Service Provisioning and/or Service Assurance. Previous exposure to Test Lab Environments Server Administration is essential. Scripting or coding experience is an asset.

Main Job Duties / Accountabilities include:
Analyze and determine training needs to provide proactive training solutions to identified/targeted audience

Partner with various teams to ensure that training courses are available in a timely manner. Leverage best practices in order to improve and optimise technical and product knowledge across the business

Develop/complete training content for different technologies and products based on business needs within an allotted time and deliver training material to targeted audience (business technicians)

Provide training that may take place one on one, via a traditional classroom environment, or through a multimedia platform

Speak in front of large audiences

Apply excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to excel in different types of training environments

Measure and track quality and effectiveness of all training delivered, ensuring constant adjustment and improvement

Actively participate in various projects as a subject matter expert for new equipment, process and tools while providing regular feedback to local management on project progression and challenges

Lead complex technical and process issue improvements on a day-to-day basis

Support Field and Test Center technicians, assisting them isolate and resolve complex issues including Customer interactions

Work autonomously and with minimal supervision

Keep up with emerging telecommunication technologies

Work collaboratively with team players with a superior influencing ability, and build relationships across various stakeholder groups to move initiatives forward

Possessing a valid IP certification (e.g. CCNA), or in the process of achieving it, will be of benefit in carrying out duties and accountabilities.

As necessary, agree to undergo a background security check to meet a customer’s clearance requirement.

Essential Qualifications / Skills:
Candidates who are part of the Craft and Services bargaining unit must have:

A college diploma in electronics or telecommunications, or equivalent work experience

At least one current IP certification (CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, Juniper, CVoice, etc.), or in the process of achieving it, or equivalent IP specific knowledge

Candidates from outside the Craft and Services bargaining unit must have:

A college diploma in electronics or telecommunications, or equivalent work experience

A minimum of a high school diploma

At least one current IP certification (CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, Juniper, CVoice, etc.) or in the process of achieving it, or equivalent IP specific knowledge

Fluent in English

Ability to design and deliver learning programs

Excellent leadership to reinforce the importance to respect notions and instructions and maintain control of the classroom

Ability to instruct

Excellent knowledge in aspects related to the Bell network configuration including, Access, Metro and Core network elements from an installation, repair and maintenance perspective (tools, products, services, systems and processes)

Excellent knowledge in the following technologies, and associated test sets

Internetworking LAN/MAN/WAN

IP products and services (IPVPN, MPLS)

Broadband products and services (OE, OME, NGCE)

Basic knowledge of Bell Canada’s legacy analog products

Basic knowledge Transport technologies (OC-x and DS-x)

Intermediate knowledge for following applications; TIM, FOCUS, IPACT, COPS, PVCOARS

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office

Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment

Ability to make decisions promptly and manage risks while under pressure

Analytical thinking and problem solving abilities

Working Conditions:
This is a 24/7 operation. The candidate may be called upon to work variable schedules according to business needs (schedules within a given day are prepared by the Company with due consideration to seniority), to participate in a standby program and work overtime as needed. Available and flexible to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays as needed.

Note that many working conditions are subject to terms outlined in the collective agreement.
