The Technology Evolution Team is responsible for the architecture, development and faster introduction of new technology & services across Voice, Wireline and Wireless DevOps domains with reliable architecture to provide high quality data for e2e service monitoring that provides internal TELUS teams to make use of automation and evolved troubleshooting.

These systems include network element management systems, end-to-end monitoring, infrastructure and service provisioning, alarm collection and other operational support systems.

Technology Evolution Team is looking for a dynamic individual to join in a Technology Architect capacity and help drive our strategy to provide reliable, flexible architecture to enable internal TELUS teams to promote revenue, meet our customers’ specific requirements and therefore grow client business within TELUS all while keeping pace with new, changing and emerging technologies.

Work towards delivering platforms which support the management of our wireless and wireline domains, develop solution blueprints and application architecture specifications for implementation of vendor OSS products and custom build, define solutions and systems roadmaps, evaluate and recommend vendor products and proposals, provide leadership to design, implementation and operations teams, perform impact analysis on incoming service and support requests all while working closely with project managers, vendors and internal clients, you will own the project cycle as a subject matter expert and provide business cases to fund projects related to new or existing systems. You will be relied upon to provide architecture documents, obtain approvals from architecture review boards and other leadership teams and high level project plans, budget management and key milestones all with the aid of and while collaborating with project managers.

You perform data design and management activities for development work

You are sought out for your knowledge and deep understanding of Wireline and/or Wireless technologies and protocols (DSL, GPON, XGSPON, 5G, 5G Cloud, LTE, WiFi,, etc)

You have good knowledge of Open Source Cloud Computing Infrastructure OpenStack, Red Hat OpenShift and Public Cloud

You are the go-to person when it comes to understanding project governance and change management

Qualifications

What you bring

You have 4+ years of hands-on work experience in a relevant field.

You hold a university degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field

You bring strong business acumen with experience in business cases and ease modelling

You bring an understanding of systems and OSs (e.g Linux), and networks in general, conversant with protocols and DSAs such as XML, WebServices, SOA, ESB’s, SNMP v2c and v3, UDP, TCP etc

You have understanding of networking (DNS, LDAP, RSA SecurID, ATM, VOIP, IP, MPLS, SONET, DWDM ), Firewalls, DNS, Syslog, SNMP, IPv4/IPv6 and Routing Protocols

You have demonstrated leadership skills, being able to work directly with management teams and formulate strategic plans

You can easily explain complex and layered technical matters to non-technical crowds in a way that resonates with them

You have strong analytical skills that results in sound decisions

You have knowledge of TMF standards or ITIL

You have extensive experience within operational support systems and business operations, especially in one or more of the following: Service Assurance, Service Management/Network monitoring, Configuration Management, Performance Management, Capacity Management, Network Provisioning and Activation, Service Fulfillment and Mediation

PMP or Agile certification or designation
